We really enjoyed Villa Madeline. It was quite comfortable and had a lot of nice amenities, such as granite countertops and a nice, spacious refrigerator. Additionally, having the washer and dryer off of the kitchen was a bonus.
The pool area was fantastic, with views that couldn't be beat. We all loved coming home after a day at the beach to the Jacuzzi. The bedrooms were very comfortable and very cute.

Seven days of running, sunning, snorkelling and rumming! This place has been amazing. What a wonderful island, people, animals….. Waterlemon Bay is our favorite place to run to, swim and run back. Check out Sloop Jones, Captain Jimmy (Kiote Sails) and Tourist Trap. Don’t forget Lameshur Bay!

We had a magnificent time….so much so, I’m hurriedly writing this before dashing off to the ferry. Beautiful views, beaches, snorkelling and wildlife. Just would like to see a more efficient, stocked kitchen as we’re into cooking our own gourmet meals.

We had a wonderful time staying in your delightful home this week! Although it was a full moon with wind and high tides, the gang still got some quality snorkelling time. This is the first time we have stayed on the East End of the island. Everyone loved the peace, the vibe and the fantastic views from your porch. Many thanks for a wonderful home and vacation to keep us warm in chilly NY/NJ!!

Stunning Caribbean architectural detail in the home welcomes you to this well-kept, well-appointed Villa. Perched slightly up the mountain side to give you a great view of Coral Bay (much better view than the VRBO photos give credit for) as well as Hurricane Hole but not to high on the mountain to give the driver and passengers white knuckles :) We enjoyed the sunshine from the deck, retreated in the shade to read, jumped in the pool and hung out comfortably on the surrounding deck with many happy hours relaxing and enjoying the beautiful expansive views. The home is as the photos display, even better in our opinion. The kitchen is loaded with glasses, plates, pans, etc., the furniture is comfortable and well maintained. We found the bedrooms to have dual closets, comfortable beds and a clean bath with spacious full tile shower (or enjoy the outside shower). Very cool. Quiet area, convenient location and all the amenities blend for a perfect vacation getaway! I would likely recommend Villa Madeline to friends and family!

The vacation started out like a regular trip, but it didn’t end that way. Captain “Claybob” and me decided to test our sea knowledge on a 16’ sailboat. We took off from shore in Cinnamon Bay for what we thought was an easy float. We were wrong. The winds picked up out of the north. The seas turned on us. The waves were almost as tall as our mast. We tried to drop the sail, but it was too late. Davey Jones locker swallowed our boat, our gear and almost our lives! Lassoed two giant sea turtles and tied them off to our ½ a pontoon from the boat. We battled off Tiger sharks, sea serpents and electric eels. The rain quenched our thirst. The ocean life quenched our hunger. We spent days a drift. Finally washed up on an old rum plantation and found caches of the old distillery. We drank until we couldn’t drink no more. We sang old pirate songs about plundering and pillaging. We washed up on the old sea shores of what is now called Coral Bay on St John island. And to this day you will hear of the legend of journey that almost took Captain “Claybob” and his first mate’s life. They call us legends, we call it living.
Had a wonderful vacation. Trunk Bay is very beautiful and Cinnamon Bay has great waves and Vie’s has the best Johnny Cakes and garlic fried chicken. The donkeys can be a little loud, but we hope to come back soon!

What a beautiful view from Villa Madeline and a perfect start and end point to our days. Each day we found a new trail and snorkelling, swimming resting spot. Favorite restaurants are Shipwreck, Aqua Bistro and Skinny Legs. Coral Bay is the best place for us to relax and enjoy! Though we loved Low Key Watersports for snorkel gear in Cruz Bay and a great home-cooked dinner nearby at Zozo’s. Overall, a really wonderful break and perfect contrast to a cold and drab early winter. Thank you!!!

We loved Coral Bay and can't wait to come back. Villa Madeline was a perfect location for getting to a variety of beaches. We enjoyed the pool and the neighborhood donkeys - what a hoot! Snorkeling at Trunk Bay, Salt Pond, Hawksnest and Maho was a blast. We especially enjoyed the hike back from Watermelon Bay (awesome snorkeling - turtle sightings, even a spotted eagle ray) to Coral Bay. Skinny Legs was our stop after the hike to enjoy a drink or two! Dinner out at Aqua Bistro was excellent, would recommend it! Thank you for guiding us on our first trip (hopefully not last) to St. John.

We just returned from St. John and our marvelous stay at Villa Madeline. I wanted to let you know a couple of things. We had wonderful experiences with Island Baby (baby gear rental) and Sam & Jack's Deli (provisioning; both their service and food items were excellent), and hope you will recommend them to other guests. Thank you for all of your help; we hope to return to St. John soon.

We spent the most wonderful week at Villa Madeline! Snorkeling was great at Trunk Bay and Salt Pond. Enjoyed dinners at Skinny Legs and Sweet Plantains. The highlight of our days was the delicious smoothies at Columbos. We lost count of how many different animals we saw! We look forward to staying at Villa Madeline again!

Great trip....again! Our 9th to St. John. Book a charter with Capt. John Brandi or Palm Tree Charters! We had the best time snorkeling at The Indians. Was amazing...like swimming in an aquarium. Loved Villa Maddy. Hope to come back next year. Future guests--put out a small plate of sugar for the bananaquits. They look for it every day now!

This is our 3rd year here on St. John, and we've loved it each time. We've seen gigantic coral, spotted eagle rays, leopard eels, turtles, hermit crabs, mongoose, billie goats, pigs and a lot of others!

We loved and enjoyed our stay here at Villa Maddy! We especially loved the pool and jacuzzi and the view is breathtaking. Our favorite restaurant was Shipwreck Landing just down the road, and our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay--beautiful! We went on a snorkel trip on a catamaran and also went parasailing. We visitied Woody's bar and the Quiet Mon Pub, hoping to see Kenny Chesney but no such luck! This island is breathtaking and we got to see most all of it. Brad brought me here for my 50th birthday. Best birthday yet! Thank you--this was beyond our expectations!

Thank you for all your generous hospitality and help with our questions this past week. The home is beautiful and very welcoming, clean, comfortable, and feels like a true home away from home. Beaches are absolutely as beautiful as we had hoped and imagined--crystal clear turquoise waters. Our favorite beaches were:
(1) Trunk Bay--huge beach, we went early and had great spots!!
(2) Gibney Beach--not even on the map! Totally quiet and secluded. No signs to it, its location 3 driveways from Hawksnest.
(3) Jumbie Beach--another beautiful secluded quiet beach.
(4) Solomon Beach--nice, a bit of a hike to get to.
(5) Cinnamon Bay--big waves but fun! Big beach as well! But couldn't snorkel here.
We will pass the word onto others about Villa Madeline! Thank you and God Bless.

Wow, what an amazing week on St. John! Amazing snorkeling at Waterlemon and Trunk Bay, great smoothies at Columbo's, a few wonderful BBQs out by the pool enjoying the breezy evenings. The island was more beautiful than we even imaged and the wildlife blew us away (pigs, goats, donkeys, mongoose, roosters, chickens, cows, horses, crabs, etc.)!! Villa Madeline was the perfect home away from home--very comfortable, great quiet location and spectacular views. Thanks so much--we can't wait to return!

Celebrating big birthdays: We hate to leave. We had a great time at Villa Maddy with the pool, spa, and the outside grill. Nothing went unused. We explored the island to its fullest. Our favorite beaches: Trunk Bay and Hawksnest are tied for #1, Lameshur Bay #2, and Leinster Bay is best for snorkeling fish and turtles but next time we'll wear sneakers for that trail. For the resturants that were open, we loved Skinny Legs for a burger and to watch our favorite team sports, Zo Zo's for a great sunset. make reservations at the bar. Best seats in the house! Also, enjoyed Asolare, great views, sunset and the ambiance was beautiful. Thanks, and hope to visit again real soon.

We loved St. John and especially Villa Madeline. Your home is both beautiful and very functional. The stone and tile work are lovely and we enjoyed the pool and spa daily. Our 60th birthday/retirement celebration vacation was filled daily with fun adventures. We hiked several trails, took a sail trip, rented kayaks and of course enjoyed lots of great beaches and snorkeling. Our dining experiences were great and included Skinny Legs, Woodys, ZoZo's, Miss Lucy's. Thanks for a great trip.
