  1. We can’t say enough amazing things about our stay at Estate Fortsberg. The house and the architecture, the pool, the VIEW! Fabulous weather, visiting 2-3 different bays a day – Vie’s beach, Hanson Bay, Hawksnest, Salt Pond Bay, Little Limeshur, etc, etc. The Food – the Tourist Trap (Boom Boom Shake), Vie’s snack shack, Shipwreck Landing, Skinny Legs, Miss Lucy’s. Riding up the hill to the house – so much fun! Seeing the donkey’s and the roosters. Great home for young kids and multiple families. Windspree was great! They met us at the ferry, escorted us to the house and were available for any questions throughout. We look forward to our next trip!

  2. It has been ten days since we left St John, but it already feels like months! From the moment we met Richard at the dock to the moment we boarded the ferry to return home, everything was sweet paradise! I spent weeks searching sites for a villa to rent and decided on Estate Fortsberg for its view, location and layout. I have rented nice villas on St John before, all were nice and lovely, but NONE compare to Estate Fortsberg. Our group was in awe the moment we arrived! There are so many wonderful features about the villa, but I would mention three in particular. First, the bedrooms are very private, accessible, nicely decorated and well laid out. Secondly, the massive deck area allowed for enjoyment all day long – sunshine beginning at daybreak through the end of the afternoon. Third, the view! I can’t imagine a view any better on the island – and i tried to find one! If anyone has questions to ask about the villa, feel free to share my email address with them! We will be back soon. I am thankful that I will not have to search hundreds of villas the next time. Estate Fortsberg is the one!

  3. I’ve been meaning to call and thank you for your hospitality and courtesies during our visit. It’s always a pleasure working with you. Estate Fortsberg was incredible! We loved it! Everything worked perfectly, except the blender. And that was replaced in an hour. We’ve stayed at other villas on the island, but this was the best by far. Comfortable, clean, incredible panoramic views, great lay-out, well-furnished, plenty of beach chairs and water toys (noodles). We only regretted having to leave.

We hiked up to the Fort one day for a quick look around. We didn’t get to the shoreline battery this trip, but we had explored it on a prior visit.

The new Dolphin Market is great, as is the pizza at Indigo Blue. Miss Vie’s and Maho are still our favorite beaches. The golf outing/fundraiser at Skinny Leggs was a lot of fun.

    Thanks, again!

  4. We’ve just returned from the most spectacular family vacation at Estate Fortsberg! The house was immaculate and fully stocked. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Every single room has its own outdoor shower. The kids played in the pool while the adults fixed dinner and enjoyed cocktails on the deck and in the hot tub. Every day we explored a different part of the island, including phenomenal snorkeling, going on boat trips, hiking and jogging on mountain trails, etc, etc. KAy and all the people at Windspree were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The only challenge we faced was that the road up to the house is as treacherous as all the reviews said it would be — incredibly steep and full of loose rocks and dirt — every time we went up it I was white-knuckled and gripping the edge of my seat. But overall, I would highly recommend this house!!

Estate Fortsberg is situated in a very special and private location on the south side of St. John, just outside the wonderfully charming and quaint hamlet of Coral Bay. The house sits on a promontory of land within the National Park boundaries, overlooking Hurricane Hole and Coral Bay, at an elevation of 260 feet on historic Fortsberg Mountain.  The views from the pool deck are epic and serene.

The home encompasses 270 degree views with every window offering breathtaking private views.  The thoughtful design of this villa makes it possible to rent it as a four-bedroom house, with all rooms open, or alternatively as a two-bedroom property for one or two couples seeking solitude and luxury.

Estate Fortsberg is appointed with high end mahogany furniture of the West Indian tradition, including unique four poster beds and hand carved tables.

The pool deck at Estate Fortsberg is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and dining areas.  There is full sun, shade, and breeze in this idyllic spot.

Early risers will be delighted by the gorgeous sunrises to the east. In the evening of the full moon phase, Estate Fortsberg affords phenomenal views of the moonrise. Look northward to the towering island of Tortola and Southeast to distant Norman Island.

In the Caribbean tradition, the great room is the house center.  There is a gourmet kitchen, dining room and large living area complete with a wet bar.

The dining area, just off of the kitchen and island, is a formal and sheltered setting for meals.  Another dining area is just outside the large doors on the pool deck, with sweeping private views all around.

The home was designed with 4 master bedrooms complete with full baths, each with its own private outdoor stone shower.  On the first level, it has a large waterside granite patio with a roofed porch that extends the complete length of the house, offering reprieve from the bright Caribbean sun. This is the West bedroom with king sized bed on the main level.

East bedroom on main level.

The lower level includes a beautifully landscaped courtyard, private balconies off each bedroom, and a large covered deck area complete with ping pong and the traditional Soggy Dollar ring toss game. West bedroom with king sized bed on lower level.

ast lower level bedroom has two twin beds that can be made into a king sized bed.

The inviting pool offers stunning views of Hurricane Hole in the National Park, and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
