  1. Our wedding at Trunk Bay at sunset was picture perfect. Sea Cottage was just wonderful, the peaceful sounds of the forest was breathtaking. The view looking down to Coral Bay was so pretty. Since it rained 2 days we had a lot of time to tour the island and explore lots of neat stuff. Thank you for the bottle of champagne to toast our wedding. We enjoyed visiting your shop and picking up a few things to bring back.

  2. We were looking to get away from the common vacation grind, crowded pools and cookie cutter resort life and hoped to find a quiet, remote and authentic retreat. We found exactly that at the “Sea Cottage.” The sounds of the forest at night were amazing and the view spectacular. There are no homes across the valley, which adds so much to the private atmosphere. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite things about Sea Cottage, the experience of being surrounded by the forest was very unique, and beyond what we had expected. It really makes you look forward to returning to the cottage after a long day of hiking and snorkeling. You won’t regret it; we had an amazing time and cannot wait to go back.

  3. After our wedding, we wanted to stay somewhere private and comfortable. We did not want to be at a busy, pricey resort. We were very impressed with the Sea Cottage. Monika and Jorge are really nice people and great hosts. They met us on the ferry dock and had yummy banana bread waiting for us in the fridge. They were easily accessible in case any came up. The Sea Cottage is certainly tucked away, but easy to find as there were signs directing us to it from off the main road. The view is priceless, as we looked out from the deck on Coral Bay and eastern side of the island. We could even see Tortola and other islands in the distance. At night, it was quiet and cool as we slept comfortably with the windows open, the screen doors shut, and fan blowing overhead. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster, grill, and coffee maker available for breakfast and keeping food fresh for the week. We enjoyed the flat screen tv with dvd player and great collection of movies in the evening. We stayed busy during each day leaving early after preparing breakfast and lunch, returning each evening to freshen up for either a quiet night in or going out to enjoy food at Cruz Bay. We loved staying here and would definitely recommend this place for couples who want a secluded, peaceful, and comfortable hideaway with an amazing view.

  4. My partner and I just spent a wonderful week on St. John in the Sea Cottage on Bordeaux Mountain. The cottage has many attributes to recommend it, the greatest of which is the view overlooking first the lush green Carolina Valley and then several beautiful bays, the East End of St. John and the British Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean in the distance. The pictures shown in the property description are accurate, as hard as it might be to believe. So most mornings were spent in the comfortable chairs on the porch, drinking coffee, watching the sunrise, reading, and watching the beautiful, tropical birds, including bananakeets and hummingbirds. Afternoons were often spent reading in the hammock before heading out to dinner. The cottage itself is lovely with large Mexican tiles on the floor as well as on the wrap around deck and in the outside shower. The outside shower offered complete privacy, but stunning views. The screen doors on two sides of the cottage, plus the many windows, create fantastic airflow from the famed trade winds. There is a great selection of dvd’s and a nice flat screen tv. The kitchen is appropriately stocked to allow for cooking and we cooked one night. But there are many wonderful restaurants nearby in Coral Bay and Cruz Bay, so we ate out most nights. The bathroom is stocked with wonderful comfy towels. Although the lush forest trees surround three sides of the Sea Cottage, the side you see when you approach from the driveway is beautifully landscaped. Accessibility to all of St. John is another great benefit of staying at the Sea Cottage. You are close to great St. John National Park trails. You are a short drive to great beaches on the North Shore as well as to the quiet and beautiful East End. Amazing snorkeling is to be had in the waters at several spots. There is also plenty of St. John information available on the bookshelves in the cottage. There is a good grocery store just 10 mins or so in Coral Bay, as well as some pleasant shopping, including the property owners’ shop, which has some beautiful locally made artisan crafts. The larger grocery stores, more shopping and restaurants are just 20 mins away in Cruz Bay. We highly recommend the Sea Cottage for a great, relaxing, romantic getaway for two that comes at a very reasonable price. We recommend an SUV rental in order to take full advantage of all St. John has to offer.

Welcome to Sea Cottage, located on Bordeaux Mountain overlooking Coral Bay, on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sea Cottage is reached by way of the paved and level Bordeaux Mountain Road, which winds through the lush and fragrant bay rum forest. A short path down to the cottage, where you'll find your private getaway with breathtaking views of Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands.

Sea Cottage is a 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom property that sleeps 2 and is just a 10 minute drive to the world famous North Shore beaches, less than 15 minutes from the shops and restaurants of beautiful Coral Bay and the Cruz Bay ferry dock.

A spacious wrap around deck delivers a million-dollar view. Perched high above the Carolina Valley in the heart of the Bordeaux forest, Sea Cottage is a charming and romantic cottage overlooking the turquoise Caribbean waters of the Sir Francis Drake channel - a private paradise.

For those who wish to enjoy St. John on foot, the Bordeaux Mountain trailhead in the Virgin Islands National Park is only a short hike away, leading to beautiful Lameshur Bay on the south side of the island as well as other trails in the park.

Coral Bay has a vibrant artist community at its core

Sea Cottage is decorated with local art, like this mixed media piece by Dennis Hart. The hammock is a great place to get lost in a new book from our bookshelf.

Sea Cottage is a newly built studio featuring an open floor plan with airy, vaulted ceilings, and a kitchen to please the most discriminating cook. Dine casually at the contemporary kitchen island or set a table al fresco, looking miles out to sea.

Sea Cottage has a DVD player and accompanying library, for curling up with a great film. Enjoy state of the art sound dock to plug in your MP3 player, or ours.

No computer or TV adds to the "unplugged" atmosphere at Sea Cottage. For those of you who prefer to stay plugged in, your smart phone or your laptop wifi can pick up a nearby cellular tower signal to keep you connected.

Enjoy all nature has to offer right from the comfort of Sea Cottage.

Start your day and end your evening on the inviting wrap around deck.

Imagine admiring a moonrise or a sunrise, over Sir Frances Drake with the British Virgin Islands in the distance, with the one you love.
