Bajo el Sol art gallery is owned by David and Priscilla Knight. The couple invigorates the well respected gallery by inviting the public to participate in interactive programs. One of the highlights of 2019 was an ongoing mask-making workshop to allow St. John residents to express their storm experience through art. Select masks were sent and displayed at the Interior Library in Washington DC.
David and Priscilla purchased Baho el Sol a few years ago in an upstairs location at Mongoose Junction and in February 2020, they moved to lower level main entrance of the same shopping complex in Cruz Bay.
David, a born and raised St John resident, believes in celebrating and supporting the local community and culture. The great collection of books for sale in the new gallery space shows his unyielding loyalty to the Caribbean people.
The new space at Bajo el Sol is an immersive experience that teleports you to a place where intellect, creativity, beauty and yummy treats collide. Check them out on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bajoelsolgallery/
