On Friday February 1st the island congratulated David and Priscilla Knight on their grand opening of Art Bar at Baho el Sol Gallery.

David and Priscilla purchased Baho el Sol a few years ago in its long time location upstairs in Mongoose Junction. Since then they have breathed new life in to the well respected gallery by creating interactive programs that invite the public to participate. One of the highlights this last year was a continuous mask making workshop that was open to hundreds of island residents, young and old, to express their experience post storms through art. The masks were on display in a large space downstairs and went on to the Interior Library in Washington DC for a showing.

David, a born and raised St John resident, believes in celebrating and supporting the local community and culture. Evident in the great collection of books for sale in the new gallery space is his unyielding loyalty to the Caribbean peoples experience and giving it a voice. The new space is amazing. Visiting is an immersive experience that teleports you to a place where intellect, creativity, beauty and yummy treats collide. Check them out on Facebook
