Perseid Meteor Shower

July 17 – August 24, 2020

The Perseids are one of the brighter meteor showers that occurs every year in mid-August. The exceptional meteor shower is space debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet and appears to hail in the sky from the constellation Perseus (from which the Perseids are so named). Most Perseids burn up in the atmosphere, creating a stunning show of falling stars for sky gazers.
