  1. We loved staying at Banana Cabana. We enjoyed being entertained by the sounds of the birds, seeing the frogs, geckos, donkeys, goats, etc. We were here for a family wedding. The ceremony was held at 4:30pm at Hawksnest and it was beautiful! Then we had the reception at Aqua Bistro. The food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. We had about 35 people here from all over the mainland and everyone totally enjoyed the visit. Mostly remembered by everyone, was how very friendly the islanders are, and so very helpful. We enjoyed Hawksnest Bay, Trunk Bay, and even a short, quiet visit to Haulover Bay. Besides Aqua Bistro, we dined at Longboard in Cruz Bay and loved them both. We mostly made our own meals besides that and found the grocery shopping at Starfish and Dolphin Market in Cruz Bay are less expensive and have a much better selection than the 2 markets in Coral Bay. We had to go to St Thomas to the Schneider Regional Medical Center 3 times for kidney dialysis for one member of the family and found the ferry system , taxis, and everyone at the hospital to be very kind, friendly, efficient, and wonderful.
We loved St John and hope to return sometime in the not too distant future.
Thanks for sharing your lovely Banana Cabana with us!

  2. We had an amazing time here. Post Irmaria there was lots to do. 1) Maho never is a doubt to see turtles. 2) Kiddle Bay there is a road you think you shouldn’t be on. It leads to an amazing rocky bay with the most colorful coral there is. Little Lameshur is a must go to. Francis is awesome. Food was great at Skinny Legs. Miss Lucy’s and Indigo Grill are a must go to. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We are not happy to go back to Cold Cincinnati. Thank you.

  3. Kristen and Steve, Thank you for a wonderful stay! The recommendation to visit Trunk Bay after 4pm was right on – we had the #1 gorgeous beach in the world pretty much to ourselves. Post – hurricanes both Trunk and Cinnamon Bay facilities(rest rooms, bar, chair rental, snack bar) still closed so be sure to pack your own cooler. Thankful for the beach towels, chairs, and cooler already @ Banana Cabana. Highly recommend Mark Whitefoot – lead guide (request him!) for the 5 hour Virgin Islands Ecotours 340-779-2155. The tour included beautiful kayaking, 2 snorkel stops, swimming w/turtles and use of the chairs / bar / water toys (paddleboards, etc.) at Honeymoon Bay. Bring sneakers for the hike post and a backpack. There is a nice outdoor shower @ Honeymoon Bay to rinse off to stay out in that direction for dinner. Nice neighbors let me park across the street so I didn’t have to make the sharp driveway turn at night. Thanks!

  4. We had a very good time staying at Banana Cabana. We were happy to see the island of St. John healing from the hurricane so quickly and the efforts of the citizens to get everything up and running again.
This was our 6th straight spring of visiting St. John and participating in the 8 Tuff Miles run. The “unofficial” run was just as fun and rewarding this year with great support from the community for water stations and cheering sections along the route.
Our favorite beaches and snorkeling sites are:
    1. Salt Pond with hike to Ram’s Head & Drunk Bay.
    2. Waterlemon Cay Snorkel with Leinster Beach
    3. Kiddel & Grootpan snorkel and beaches
    4. Francis Beach
    5. Little Lameshure Beach
Post hurricane the food choices were: Skinny Legs, Oasis, Pickles, Wok on the Beach & Indigo Grill, all were fine with their own specialties.
In Cruz Bay the Tap Room was our favorite for a quick cheap bite to eat at Happy Hour. We really enjoyed the lack of people this year, but, We hope the hurricanes stay away from St John for many, many years to come!
Thank you for sharing your home with us!
