  1. Two years ago when we were finishing up our week long stay here at Estate Fortsberg we concluded that seven days simply wasn’t enough time to enjoy the house and the beautiful island. So this time we decided to extend our stay to 10 days and now as the time winds down again we realize that we would still like to have a few more days. I have a feeling that no matter how long we stay here at the end the sentiments would always remain. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Hope to return again someday soon.

  2. We stayed at Estate Fortsberg in July of 2019, and it was our 2nd time visiting St. John. We absolutely love this property and can’t say enough wonderful things about it! The house itself is very well designed, has beautiful decor and very spacious and comfortable. The views are spectacular!! The kitchen is very well stocked with all the hardware you need to prepare a meal and even has some spices and a bag of ice. The laundry room is right off of the kitchen which was very convenient for me. The closet in the foyer is well stocked with coolers and sun screen/bug spray. There’s an outside closet by the entrance that contains about 8 beach chairs, an umbrella and noodles.. The bathrooms are all stocked with plenty of towels and liquid soap & shower gel.. The outdoor showers are very nice with a beautiful view. On the lower level, there’s a ping pong table. The location in Coral Bay is perfect….it’s on a secluded hill but still close to town and an easy drive up a steep hill (fun to drive in the Jeep). The hermit crabs on the backside of the house are very cool! This place is absolutely perfect and we highly recommend it!!

In Coral Bay, we highly recommend Busy Bees for your scuba and snorkeling adventures. The guys there are wonderful! My husband and son had just become certified and were doing their very first dive. The dive instructor was very patient and informative. For restaurants, we enjoyed eating at the infamous Skinny Legs and Rhumb Lines. The coolest and most unique eating spot is definitely Lime Out. It’s a floating restaurant that serves the most amazing tacos. You have to rent a kayak and paddle out to it. Definitely add that to your list of things to do while in St. John.

In Cruz Bay, check out Mongoose Junction. There are a lot of places to eat and shop. The best key lime pie is at Morgan’s Mango! Their food is also great. At Lime Inn, my daughter got the barbecue pork and it was incredible.

For snorkeling, we went everywhere! Our favorites are Maho (for the sea turtles) and Francis. When at Francis, swim to the left to reach the area between Francis & Maho….there is a lot of coral & sea life there. It was my personal favorite.

We love St. John and can’t wait to go back!!

  3. We just spent 10 days at Estate Fortsberg with our BFFs ~ our second stay at the villa – celebrating life and wedding anniversaries. There’s a reason for the 2nd stay ~ it’s an incredible villa with even more incredible views! The panoramic views are breathtaking from the time the sun rises (very early!) to the time it sets only to leave the sky dark and full of bright stars! The contacts at Windspree were helpful from the time we made our reservation until the time we departed. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island ~ it’s so close to Maho, Cinnamon, Waterlemon/Leinster, Hanson, etc. ~ that we didn’t feel the need to stay closer to Cruz Bay. Even when we did get to Cruz Bay, the drive didn’t take too long and provided many wonderful island views along the way. After a long day at the beach, we enjoyed dinners at Skinny Legs and Rhumb Line. Thank you again for sharing the beautiful home with us!

  4. We had a wonderful 9 days here at your beautiful villa! We enjoyed many different beaches, but our favorites were a very empty Trunk Bay and the turtles at Maho. We ate at Aqua Bistro, Pickles, Skinny Legs, Indigo Grill and Cruz Bay Landing. Hope to be back soon and see all the growth and progress this beautiful island has made.
Thanks for all the great memories!

Estate Fortsberg is situated in a very special and private location on the south side of St. John, just outside the wonderfully charming and quaint hamlet of Coral Bay. The house sits on a promontory of land within the National Park boundaries, overlooking Hurricane Hole and Coral Bay, at an elevation of 260 feet on historic Fortsberg Mountain.  The views from the pool deck are epic and serene.

The home encompasses 270 degree views with every window offering breathtaking private views.  The thoughtful design of this villa makes it possible to rent it as a four-bedroom house, with all rooms open, or alternatively as a two-bedroom property for one or two couples seeking solitude and luxury.

Estate Fortsberg is appointed with high end mahogany furniture of the West Indian tradition, including unique four poster beds and hand carved tables.

The pool deck at Estate Fortsberg is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and dining areas.  There is full sun, shade, and breeze in this idyllic spot.

Early risers will be delighted by the gorgeous sunrises to the east. In the evening of the full moon phase, Estate Fortsberg affords phenomenal views of the moonrise. Look northward to the towering island of Tortola and Southeast to distant Norman Island.

In the Caribbean tradition, the great room is the house center.  There is a gourmet kitchen, dining room and large living area complete with a wet bar.

The dining area, just off of the kitchen and island, is a formal and sheltered setting for meals.  Another dining area is just outside the large doors on the pool deck, with sweeping private views all around.

The home was designed with 4 master bedrooms complete with full baths, each with its own private outdoor stone shower.  On the first level, it has a large waterside granite patio with a roofed porch that extends the complete length of the house, offering reprieve from the bright Caribbean sun. This is the West bedroom with king sized bed on the main level.

East bedroom on main level.

The lower level includes a beautifully landscaped courtyard, private balconies off each bedroom, and a large covered deck area complete with ping pong and the traditional Soggy Dollar ring toss game. West bedroom with king sized bed on lower level.

ast lower level bedroom has two twin beds that can be made into a king sized bed.

The inviting pool offers stunning views of Hurricane Hole in the National Park, and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
