Mornin’ Glory sits on a hillside overlooking tranquil Coral Bay and out towards East End. Conveniently located a few paces beyond the center of Coral Bay, Mornin’ Glory guests can easily enjoy restaurants and shops nearby while still enjoying the peace and quiet of a private villa. Enjoy sweeping views of the Caribbean waters and cool breeze from the broad front porch. The same incredible view can be enjoyed from every room in the house, including the master shower. The great room is open with the kitchen set up a few steps above and a bedroom alcove tucked in on the same level. The villa can sleep six guests with a king in the master, a queen in the alcove and a queen in the studio below. The upstairs is perfect for a couple and small children. For two couples or families with older children, we suggest renting the entire home which includes the studio below. Guests sleeping in the alcove will have to share the master bath. Mornin’ Glory is comfortable and affordable with all the conveniences of home like a full kitchen, washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, and beach accessories. It will be a pleasure returning from a glorious beach day to relax in the open and inviting space that this home offers. The look and feel of Mornin’ Glory is parallel to the styling of quaint Caribbean décor with bright colours and tropical furnishings. Guests will feel that they are getting a unique and authentic St. John experience

  2. Just two of us from frigid Minnesota enjoying 9 days in Paradise. We’ve been coming down here for over 20 years, but not every year. We love the East End. Mornin’ Glory has been perfect for us. We love the location. It’s well appointed, the views are great, and believe it or not, compared to where we usually stayed, this driveway is a piece of cake! It’s both sad and heartening to see how the island has been affected but recovering from Irma and Maria. Both houses we usually rented are totally destroyed. But the island spirit is alive & well. We spent most of our time on the East End. Snorkeling has been impacted by the storms. We love the daunting drive out to Little Lameshure, to enjoy the quiet beach & previously great snorkeling. This time, not so good. But…for the first time it was calm enough to go all the way around Yawzi Point. And THAT was only other snorkeling. Highlights:
Salt Pond – dissappointing, but nice
    Francis – Lots of turtles
Leinster/Waterlemon – up wind side of Waterlemon Key still pretty good. Down wind side, deystroyed. In the bay, turtles, sharks & a huge barracuda! FUN
Hansen – Still good around Pelican Reef. Nice Beach. $3 fee, but worth it.
Hawksnest – Coral has suffered, but still a nice beach & snorkel.
Jumbie – Nice beach. Leave the snorkels at home. Easy walk in.

We had so much fun trying the new & old favorite eateries. Since this time it was just the 2 of us, we decided to have a light breakfast at home, pack a cooler with stuff for lunch at the beach, & then have our dinner out. Great schedule for me! Favorite dining spots:
Skinny Legs – of course. Had our first and last night dinners there. Hubby loves the blue cheese burger, & I like the Mahi. Great music one Wed. & the weekend. Trivia on Tuesday.
Aqua Bistro – Ponzu Tuna on Fridays, Live music several nights. Great Bistro Salad.
Caribbean Oasis – menu changes daily. Like them on Facebook to see the daily menu. Usually 4-5 entrees & a bunch of sides. Only open 4 – 8pm. Go early, or they run out. Pour – your – own bar. Favorite local spot. Home Cooking.
Rhumb Lines – Best happy hour on the island! From 5 -6 pm only at the bar and the 2 high top tables. All drinks & great small plate appetizers 1/2 price! We made it dinner, twice.

    Other highlights:
Since the shore snorkeling was only ok, we talked to the folks at Windspree, and they recommended a snorkel – sail with Captain Carl on the Mahiya – a comfortable catamaran that sails out of Coral Bay. Did the full day sail, out to LeDuck & Flanagan islands. Excellent snorkeling. Included snacks, lunch, & all beverages. Carl is full of information about the island history, flora, fauna, and culture. It was a GREAT day.
Now, sadly time to head home. It was -30 when we left Minneapolis with _50 windchill. Nothing like a 130* temperature swing arriving here . Returning to -20*, we need to figure out how to stay here longer.
Thank you Ludkiewicz family for sharing Mornin’ Glory with us. LOVED IT!

  3. My husband and I have been coming to St. John off and on for about 25 years now, (about every 2 or 3 years) and definitely prefer staying on the east end. Sadly, the homes we usually rented were destroyed in the hurricanes. So, we looked to Windspree for an alternative. We’ve always found Karen and her staff extremely helpful in locating villas when our usuals weren’t available. And Mornin’ Glory did not disappoint. For the first time in those 25 years, it was just the two of us. We usually come with friends and/or family. So, we didn’t need a big place. We rented the upper floor of Mornin Glory. And it was perfect. Recently remodeled after the storms, it was fresh and clean and bright. The dining area was spacious and easily could seat six. The sitting area had two loveseats, coffee table, and TV. The master bedroom had a very comfortable King bed, and up 3 steps was a dressing area, closet, nice bathroom, and a decadent outdoor shower. Loved that. The kitchen was well laid out and well equipped. First house we’ve rented in STJ with a dishwasher! (which we never used BTW). Microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, even an InstaPot!. On the kitchen level there’s a nook with a Queen bed. Would work for kids or adults that don’t require a ton of privacy… but they need to walk through the Master bedroom to get to the bathroom. The deck runs the entire length of the house, and has half a dozen Adirondack chairs positioned to give spectacular views of Coral Bay and the amazing sunrises. The deck is in the shade in the afternoon, so provides a cool place to relax with a beverage. The house doesn’t have air conditioning. And we didn’t miss it once. With the patio doors open, the breeze coming off the water kept us cool and comfortable. There are ceiling fans in each room as well. The décor is very fresh and colorful. We looked at the lower level. It’s basically a studio, with Queen bed, bath, and small kitchenette. Perfect for a second couple that would spend most of their social time upstairs. While steep, the driveway was much easier to negotiate than our previous houses. Paved all the way up to the house. Hubby got really good at backing up the last section so the Jeep was always right by the door and ready to go. We’d rent Mornin Glory again in a heartbeat. Thanks Windspree.

  4. This was our first time visiting St John so we didn’t have much information on vacation rentals or which location to be on the island. As it turned out, we loved Mornin Glory for many reasons, but primarily because of the great view out the large expanse of windows each day, and the great location that is Coral Bay. The staff was very attentive to our needs, including sending maintenance staff out on the same morning we logged a request – two times. Six of us were very comfortable in the house, and the house contained everything we needed during our week’s stay. The only thing that proved difficult was getting our large truck up the steep driveway, but we quickly mastered how to navigate this after the first day. I don’t believe it would have been an issue with a regularly-sized vehicle. We certainly hope to one day return to St John, and will gladly rent Mornin Glory again!
