CLEAR HIKING TRAILS + BEACHES
If you like to hike, St. John is the place to share your time and talents by helping to maintain hiking trails, preserve historical sites, and cleanup beaches. Friends of the VI National Park organizes volunteer work for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Park Maintenance Area next to Mongoose Junction to learn where you are needed most. Volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and bring their own lunch and a couple empty water bottles for filling on-site. Tools, gloves, ice water and transportation are all provided, and you’ll be done before happy hour! The US Virgin Islands are popular for their incredible natural beauty and residents try hard to keep it that way for visitors far into the future. Thanks to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (AKA EPSCoR), the US Virgin Islands is able to conduct sustainable and nationally competitive energy-related research. Volunteers needed!
