In the Northern Hemisphere, the annual August Perseid meteor shower probably ranks as the all-time favorite meteor shower of the year. This shower is visible in the Southern Hemisphere, too, though to a lesser extent.
No matter where you live worldwide, the annual Perseid meteor shower occurs for several days in mid-August. Before dawn viewing is best. From northerly latitudes, you often see 50 or more meteors per hour, and from southerly latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps you’ll see about one-third that many meteors.
Remote Coral Bay makes the ultimate viewing location for stargazing. See multiple falling stars, with little to no ambient light. For more information on stargazing on St. John, and wish away while you’re in Coral Bay!
